Who am I? I’m a single over 40 mother, an ex-pat Brit living in the States, a writer, a shopaholic, a recovering addict, with anorexic tendencies and an unhealthy fascination with celebrity culture. I’m also obsessed with being green and saving the earth from the horrors of mankind. It’s a thankless task but someone’s got to do it. I believe in God, only I spell it N.A.T.U.R.E. (Frank Lloyd Wright said it first, but it should have been me).
If you want to know why I started this blog, you can read this first post. I’ve come a long way since writing that post. I am not the same person. Having a baby changed everything. There was B.B. (Before Baby) and then there was A.B. (After Baby). Two different people. Two different lives.
Now I have a precious little being in my life who depends on me to make sure everything is taken care of. I’m pleased to say that so far I don’t seem to be making a pig’s ear of it. In fact, I’m doing a pretty good job, especially considering the fucked up circumstances.
Right now, I love being a single parent. It has it’s ups and downs, but I’d rather do it alone then stay with a man that I didn’t trust or love, just for the sake of my child. I still hope to one day to fall in love and find a partner I can share my life with.
The F.O.B. is the Father of the Baby, a brief, intense affair that went pear-shaped and resulted in the birth of baby bun-buns, otherwise known as the bunny.

I have FINALLY come to check out this “bad mutha” for myself. Very bold and brave, darling!
The baby with beer makes me tsk tsk, but hey, you DID get my attention.
Thank you so much for your terrific comments on my blog. I really appreciate your thoughts — and humor!

its so refreshing to come across a mom that is honest and not afraid of imperfection. seems the “perfect mommy “stereotype is everyhwere- all the old stigmas, like once you have a baby you are supposed to morph into this goody 2 shoes, content with family and breadbaking* and the PTA…and not have anymore selfish desires or needs..but where does that leave us single mamas?
*no offense to any breadbakers out there. i love to bake and find it very therapeutic. just making a point. . .

It is never easy to be a single parent. I am also a single parent having a 7 year daughter and would like to share some dynamic information and support on how to be a winning single parent with strong, respectful relationships with your children and a comfortable, working relationship with your ex-partner.
